I don't think your cable modem will support us. |

I also have a cable modem and I have tried the same thing. The lag was insane and playing was no fun. If you don't feel like taking my word for it htough go ahead and give it a try. _________________ "Don't be so humble - you are not that great."

Just look at theville when running matches sometimes. There has been lag problems, and these are on T1 and up lines. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

You can run a match off a cable connection...however the most people you can resonably expect to support with any amount of playability is 5 or 6 (including you). (This is assuming you have a normal cable connection) This is assuming your computer is powerful enough to handle both running the hlds application and generating your in game view without lagging either. Another issue of cable is overall stability. You might go awhile and have a good connection but then you'd all of a sudden get major like spikes. It's just the nature of cable.

Most cable connections can't meet this requirement as well as most dsl connections. (Some sDSL can.) How fast is your cable up/down?
lag = no fun.
