Paypal has had security problems in the past
and I'm not comfortable using them.
However sending a check or money order woulden't be a problem. Maybe posting an address or PO box # would be in order.
How would the reserved spot work?
What happens if more than the limit of players on want to get on?
$20.00 isn't much you might have a lot of takers:)
maybe the biggest donation gets top billing...a new stat to go for

Maybe the request should go out for patrons of 'Ville I II and III come up with ways to support the site. I am quite willing to contribute in some way - but perhaps the $20.00 thing might be getting ya into some trouble. My suggestion - call for donations once a month, and put the names of the top contributors onto the map somewhere, maybe on the wall in the church, or on the corner between Cap 3 and the Church, where that "Welcome to Avantiville" thing is. Thats my 10c worth - I along with many others I am sure, want to see The Ville survive and go from strength to strength - and will gladly pay my small bit to keep it the best server and crew around.

The reserved slots work kinda funny. There are 22 spots available, 20 public and 2 reserved. When someone with a reserved spot joins that makes it only 1 reserved spot left. But here's the kicker.. When another player leaves the other reserved spot opens back up. Its kind of a sliding system. We have 11 admins with reserved slots and I never have trouble joining a server becasue it's full.

As for the people who want to send a Money Order or Check. Please send me a Private message through the forums and I will give you my address.

As of 11:00 p.m. tonight (8/17) we have raised $75.00 through PayPal alone. A huge thanks go to those who have contributed thus far. I will be posting a list of those who have contributed soon.

You know, if companies knew how addicting this game was i'm sure you could sell advertising space on TheVille's walls. I can just imagine Pepsi and Coke arguing who will get their add on the respawn wall. God knows we all play this game enough, we'd be brainwashed by that kinda stuff....wait, maybe this is a bad idea.

Rob,

I'd be more than willing to send $20 to support the ville. What e-mail address do you want the paypal payments sent to?

I'd be using paypal - but I don't have a credit card, only switch (unless I'm being really tired and debit card is a fancy name for switch)

Just a thought on finacing.

I remember the old days of AllAdvantage and other pay-to-surf applications. You could make a lot of money with those if you set up your structure correctly. This seems like a pretty orderly group here (keep your snickering down!) if you were interested in something like that i'm sure you could plan a system of referrals that would make you some good money.

Additionally it would be easy to view who contributed the most hours to TV. You could work this into the point system already in place. Because, hey, people will do anything for points on this server.

Just a thought, something i'd be willing to participate in.

I would rather send my left foot tied to a $500 check than watch those stupid AllAdvantage ads.

How about... top bidder gets no_clip enabled on them?? That would be funny!

Whoa, genius idea!!! I'll be your first bidder. Didn't mean to offend with my last post, just thought tieing donations in with points would help the cause...

No clip allows you to go thru walls and basically fly wherever you want to go.
