Just a reminder that most of the less common maps can be downloaded here:

http://www.907th.com/download.php?id=1

so if people call for Legoland or Advance, Harrington or Railroad, they can be pre-downloaded to save all the waiting...

Extract them to your maps folder which is in

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your_login\day of defeat\dod\maps

or something similar...

It is also important to download ahead of time since the server isn't configured to send all of the accessory files. So if you download from the server, you may be missing flag icons and stuff.

Avalanche is a "comfortable" map...one everyone knows. This is why there are 24/7 Ava servers out there. Lots of people don't like it but then lots more do.

It's only for 30 minutes, so if you don't like, you can always come back later.
