If you could point me towards some good online sites to order some computer part that would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for the European version of Newegg.
The reason I am looking for this is I need to import a video card that is not state side, so they also need to have international shipping.

www.dabs.com has always been good to me, don't know how their prices compare but with the dollar/pound exchange rate you won't notice much :-p
I don't know if the ship internationally though, unfortunately.

Cool I will look at that one. I found a few and was getting confused between the Euro and the Pound lol. To me the symbols look similar
No go on dabs. They do not ship anywhere but UK and Ireland..kinda wierd they dont even ship to within Europe. _________________ P4E @ 4.00 Ghz, LeadTech 6800GT 420mhz/1.16Ghz, 1 gb Corsair PC 4400, Creative X-fi, Raptor

The reason that I am ordering is I do not want to go to PCI-e untill Conroe, dx10 cards and vista are out.
So I want to get a new AGP card that will last me about 1 more year. And in Europe you can get this for agp:
7900 GT 512MB 1.2ns ram card. _________________ P4E @ 4.00 Ghz, LeadTech 6800GT 420mhz/1.16Ghz, 1 gb Corsair PC 4400, Creative X-fi, Raptor

well question....will graphics cards work over here from europe. I mean with media such as games and movies it is region exclusive...but also will a video card work with the type of electricity we have over here i mean last time i was in europe i hear my mom scream and her hair drier tried to charbroil her...just curious...cause i would never plug my computer up over there with a convertor...just curious like i said.

All the computers run on the same voltages internally.
As for movies and etc with the region lock they have, that is based on the DVD or CD disk itself and in no way will effect the graphics card. And besides, you can easily unlock those dvd and cds so there are no region codes or CCS on them anymore. Can you say Pron in the PAL format
And even with this brute of a card it does not bottleneck with agp as the agp bus was never fully used even before they went to pci-e.
And also in Europe to plug your american computer in, you simply need to get a new power cord with the proper tongs to plug into the wall. Most of the newer psu will auto switch to europes 220 volt from americas 110, and those that done auto switch will typically have a switch on the psu. _________________ P4E @ 4.00 Ghz, LeadTech 6800GT 420mhz/1.16Ghz, 1 gb Corsair PC 4400, Creative X-fi, Raptor

for powder, the cards should take the same amount of power because it going through the PSU anyway. The chips are also made for specific voltages so they they should all take the same amount.
I'm also gonna build a new comp early to mid next year with a conroe, a dx10 card, and vista. I might get some ddr2 ram to go with the conroe, but i've heard that it doesn't help much. _________________ R.I.P. Blue |

When I moved here from Northern Ireland, I brought my whole machine with me and changed it over from the UK 220V to 110V on the back. It worked well for years! And all the parts were interchangeable with North American ones...
But you have a point, PMM. For some reason, Quake II which worked well on my system in UK, refused to work over here...go figure!
Anyway Dakon, here is a company in UK that might help

1 UK Pound = US$1.80 so buying from Europe is not cheap... The dollar is very weak against most international currencies right now. Heck, it's almost worth the same as a Canadian dollar...!
Stateside, you can buy alternative and cheaper cards that might last you for the year. Check out

frankly, i think you're making a mistake. you'll pay double of an equivalent card in the USA.
Europe is expensive for almost anything, certainly electronics.
hell, i order almost all my stuff from the USA. even with shippingcosts i still spend less then buying it here in Belgium or where ever in Europe.
example:
panasonic x700 cellphone: Belgium: 325$, mine comes from australia and i payed 150$ !!!!
all my dvd's, paperbacks and most of my electronics comes out of the USA or australia. _________________ PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF =US-V= & VILLE $UPPORTER |

i know your pigheaded
so i did some searching for you.
to begin with, (maybe i looked in the wrong places) but the 7900 GT 512MB is a PCI-e card.
second, price here in Belgium: 378 Euro = 484.294 US Dollar
(i like a high end machine too, but 500$ is a lot for a gfx card.....)
that's without shipping. and i don't really know any shops around here who ship to the USA. then again, if you email them there's a big chance they'll make an exception. _________________ PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF =US-V= & VILLE $UPPORTER |

My god, I got my 7800 GT OC for almost 1/2 that, and I consider the card overkill as it is. Hell it runs Doom3, HL2, and Oblivion at thier maxw ith room to spare. I will easily get a years worth of use out of that if not more.
