Just sharing this with you...
Quote:
A 5-minute long video showing blatant flaws in Half-Life 2's hitboxes and AI.

The goal of the video is not to bash HL2, which is still one of the best game of the year. Nope. The goal is to tell fanboys this isn't the best game ever. And no, the AI isn't fantastic in Half-Life 2.

Everything was recorded in hard mode in Half-Life 2 Bronze with the latest patch. No config file was modified.

I agree. No game will ever replicate perfectly real life. Never.

I hate to say this but... *sigh* it's just a game. You can't expect AI to act like real people, but the hitbox thing is a little bad. I saw a video of CSS showing the hitboxes.

yeah i hate CS anyway so i dont play it.

But I am still firmly convinced that Half Life 2 is STILL the best game that has yet been released. All these other previous games have that same problem, and there isn't a whole lot we can do about it, other than just try to correct it.

And about games being like real life, i'm not so sure that is as impossible as you may believe...

All games have technical flaws if you look hard enough...

i give valve more credit then any gaming company out there. Sure the AI is a little tipsy and the hitboxes arent perfect. But think of the amount of coding involved in the graphics, the speech programs, the AI's reaction to things. Its truly unbeileivable when you look at other games. The work involved is redicoulous, and it payed off. They did an excellent job regardless of flaws, dont forget PEOPLE made the game. So it will never be perfect. To me flaws can be a good thing, just makes it one step further away from real. And to me, id rather play a game then a different reality.
