guild wars is coming out soon? 25 or 28? you pay for the box but no month to month subscription. was watching my bro play it during the beta thing- looks interesting. I have never played a rpg like that though.... have you played Chrono Trigger? (i think that qualifies?) and if you want better graphics Chrono Cross? ( i like chrono trigger better)

Yea if youre looking for a 1 player games, my friend told me today that Jade Empire for the XBox is sweet. He's a big RPG buff so I'd trust him. I like to stick with the classics. ie Chrono Trigger, FF I-IX, n shtuff. As for online RPGs... hmm my friend plays that one like flash game cant think of the name. I think its stupid imo.

Not an RPG but Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast pwnzorz.

Dragon Warrior VII (PS1), Final Fantasy VI(PS1), Phantasy Star 4(Sega Genesis) are amongst my favorites. Phantasy Star 4 is where my avatar comes from. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1&2(Xbox/PC), Morrowind(Xbox/PC), Parasite Eve (PS1).

If I had to guess, the game rANCOR hUNTER was referring to is AdventureQuest. If you want quite a few RPGs to occupy your time, pick up the older games. Most of them come in sets anyways, (Phantasy Star Collection on GBA, but doesn't have Phantasy Star 4), the eariler Final Fantasy's are in combos (5&6, 1&2, 4&Chrono Trigger). Although, it's not so much RPG as strategy, I'd also recommend the Shining Force Series ported onto GBA or ROMs of the Genesis ones.

If you don't mind a slow game, Xenosaga Episode 1 has a pretty good story. Sadly, I haven't gotten the time to play Episode 2 yet.

Bottom line, hit the oldies. You shouldn't be disappointed. Or idle. Hope that helps.

It stands as one of my favorite games of all time. I just loved the story wholeheartedly, the characters were great, the style of telling through comic book style scenes ruled, and the battle system was perfect.

fallout 1 and 2 were good as well as chrono trigger and cross. but alas, sadly i have conquered them both.

i like morrowind but it has way too much to take in and is rather slow.

same thing with the FF games. i have beat 1-3, 8, and x-2.

i want something that i dont have to pay month to month for as well. that was the big thing with me for WoW. ill look into the other games you guys stated and if anything new comes along fill me in.
