Killing players with higher skill

Just curious... how important is killing players with a higher skill than your own to gaining skill? With the new feature of being able to check out your skill in-game, I notice that I killed about 5 noobs before dying and my skill did not even move. Then I died once and lost 4 skill points.

You can find this info Under the stats help.What determines your skill is who you kill and with what. It goes more indepth in the help thing.

Where is that stats help thing? I've always wondered how the skill level is determined.

Or you can access it by clicking on the 'Stats' menu, and choosing the 'Help' submenu.
