friendly fire on is a dangerous thing...invites very mean people to do very bad things...not sure the complaint dept. is really ready to handle that many complaints.
i do like some of the other suggestions especially Cmons routing people from full servers to not full ones...and the blood mod is long over due comeback. Also since the bots explode we need to make the humans do something cool too.

I hate I mean hate the auto forwarding feature. The ville had it a long time ago with NS. All we did is when we saw it was disconnect and retry the server we actually wanted in the first place. And the sad thing about that a lot of people got so annoyed at that they quit playing ns at the ville. This was back when NS was a new mod.
So, that is my 2 bits. _________________ P4E @ 4.00 Ghz, LeadTech 6800GT 420mhz/1.16Ghz, 1 gb Corsair PC 4400, Creative X-fi, Raptor

I usually join a server with someone I know playing on as well. I have no problem with playing on TV5 though. Only reason I really haven't been is I was too lazy to click that nice little "Add to Favorites" button. Otherwise I would play on it more. _________________

I didn't get on TV5 too much because I don't why but it didn't show up on the Steam Server Manager Window (lol). But now the problem is fix! I'm ready to take over!
Adding only custom maps will be very cool or the standard too but NO CHARLIE AND STURM! Thank you come again! _________________

I think forwarding is a bad idea. But I would love hill_classic to be added. Eventually people would play it as long as villuns stayed and played. That and bocage. Awesome maps. An all custom server wont fly, but a hybrid that is mainly default maps with only a couple customs should do fine. Also, in regard to friendly fire, are there not amx plugins to manage/punish it, such as an incrimental punishment system that stacks offenses, with someone being slapped for 5x for 10 damage each or being buried for 30 seconds on the first tk, and having the infractions compound to the point you can set them on fire, or kick them after too many tks, with a feature that would ban them temp if they came back and got one more tk after that. Normally accidental TKs are forgiven as part of the game, but intentional tkers would be dealt with. Of course you would get the griefers who would intentionally teamwound, but they can be dealt with by using a little idea I call reciprocity. That means if you know who twed you, get them back, but make sure you dont kill them.
Of course even with a tk management plugin in place it would still probably result in a marked increase in complaint dept traffic...
PS: class limits that are too tight are ill-advised, as you tend to get idiots with fast connections in those classes.
PPS: disabling cap notices and kill notices will just turn everything into a pandamonium, as no one will know wth is going on. |

I play in it when ever there are more then 8 peeps (because those 8 are bots). I think the bots should be turned off, they always stack the teams and the freakin wall/aimbot hacks they have suck when the decide to shoot. Oh and the fact that they blow up and newspaper flys out? But I like the server, I think it should have the set up were you nominate maps for map votes. LET THE PEOPLE CHOOSE!
FRIEDEN AUS
P.S. FORWARDING IS BAD!!! We tried it on my old cs clan server, People just get mad and wait for a spot to open up. Plus you don't want to force people to play in the server, if it doesn't work out it is the peoples fualt for not playing in it and don't waste your money paying for it anymore. I would like to thank all you guys for supplying these great servers, I will join the V$ thingy when I get s steady job. |

my old dod server I had avalanche, anzio, hill_classic and tiger with 10 bots. Took some time but actually picked up and stayed fairly busy with that map rotation, you may wanna give that a shot. Works fairly well cause the first two are the two most popular std maps, and then the other two are popular customs. |

Just one thought, as Ville Supporters you get access to reserved slots so this shouldn't be a huge issue. The reserved slots are hidden so when the server looks "full" it actually has one slot available in most cases. _________________ Support wildlife. Throw a party! |

Yeah, but you can't use them through the Steam menu... _________________

i think maybe cutting down the map rotation to like 3 maps. i havent played recently so i dont know what the most popular maps are, but maybe rather than adding maps the few people play such as custom maps, add 3 that are always packed on other servers. _________________

Yes, Yes we had a reserved slot too (well actually 2) but it still forces people to play somewhere. Like I said have it a nominated vote server. That way if enough people want then they can play ava all they want. If you need help setting up forwarding, that is if you deciede to do it go to
d-town.bfgservers.com put a post asking for dizzy's help, he is an amx wizard. Remember in the end it is ultimatly your decision. |
