HL2 question

I'm not sure if this would be considered a spoiler cuz I'm sure almost everyone who is going to play the game has already played it so here goes... Barney keeps talking about an incident with a cat. What cat??? I don't seem to remember a cat from Half-Life.

Anyone have Facts or Ideas?

EDIT: I beat the game also and did not run into any cats

I assume something happened to a cat. You didn't actually see the incident. They probably just added that in to make them seem more realistic...

They tested the teleporter out on the girls cat. I cant remember her name right now as i just woke up. Supposedly it wasnt a pretty sight, kinda messy if you know what i mean.

Well I remember towards the end of the game before you enter the citadel Barney says something like "Hey did you hear that? I'm still a little traumatized from that cat"

should i or should i not admit my noobiness... prob should just restart and try and listen to what i am told rather than tuning it out..... i can't figure out what I am supposed to do... in first part...... stuck running along roof, dying a lot

took me a while to find the right door though.... lol. oh well

they hint at it a lot in the begining, the first time i went thru it i listened intently on what everyone was saying(didnt want to miss any of those hints) but the other few times i just zipped on thru...i wish that the pet would have just let me near it with a gun or two
