Doom III

OK guys, well I just played Doom 3 on my rig, and well i must say IT LAGS LIKE CRAP. The GFX own me though. They are very awesome, but too awesome u know. they sacrificed MY FPS for these GFX, but hey im not complanin much. So far the game has basically scared me, the 6.1 surround sound stereo is CRAZY SPOOKY. All in all its pritty nice, and the load lvls take you through along lvl, in other words semi long loads and very long maps.

If anyone could post your RIG setup/some comments on how to help mine that would be great.

3.0 GHZ overclocked Celeron
256k DDR Ram
Win XP
ATI Radeon 9500 (might be messed up from my overclocking attempts)

Thx for the tips, im lookin into getting a P4, now that they are finally down into my pricerange. Im lookin into around a 2.0 GHZ that i could over clock. Any tips/websites to look at, ive looked at newegg and found the range was around 120-130$. Thanks.

Also Doom 3 wierded me out, inside (like hallways n such) it laggs really bad, but right at the begining you have to go outside for a few sec to go to another building, and outside it ran smooth as crap, it made no sence, outside places normaly lag lol.

how the hell are peeps getting it already, stores here like best buy or futureshop are saying the 5th.what gives.now i have to go a searching tomorrow. 69.99 cdn ouch but best buy is throwing in a copy of dues ex 2 for free with purchase.

get some more RAM. that will already help out a lot. XP almost needs 500Mb of RAM for it's own......

I preordered a copy from EBGames, and they will have mine in the store in about 3 hours. They said the copies are in their distribution centers but just have not delivered them to the local outlets yet.
