I know that you guys have rules again clan stacking, and I can understand why. But something I've noticed in servers is what I call the avalanche stacking problem. Basically, everyone who plays this game knows that avalanche is a map that's biased towards the Axis to some extent, mostly because it's really easy for them to lob nades down the ramp or camp the stairs in apartment and shut the map down. What I find happening on servers is a phenomenon where most of the "good" players go Axis on avalanche(one wants to boost his stats, anothers afraid of getting a worse score etc. it's a domino effect), leaving the allied team with few players who know their bum from their elbow. The result is 30 minutes of torture for the allies, especially the players who actually want to go there for the challenge. I think you need to start moving players around on Avalanche to keep the number of "pros" on both sides balanced in the interest of fairness and fun for both sides. To be fair, I think many of us are guilty of trying to get on Axis when we play avalanche as being an ally on that map can be horribly frustrating, but I think this would be a change for the better. _________________ the garand is fixed... horrayzors! |

I agree. I will play the side that usually has the least amount of people either axis or allies. I prefer to play axis but if I see the sides are stacked in favor of the axis I will go to the allies to try to even things out. One thing I noticed about the Ville is the opportunity for equal play. Come on people. DON'T STACK. Make it fair for all!!! _________________

I've seen it go both ways like any other map(Except Kratsoff). I was on allies twice last night on Ava, and we pretty much pwned the axis. I think we only capped all the flags once, but we held most of the flags the whole round. |

Krastoff is another map that tends to get stacked hard.
I have seen allies win avalanche on servers, but maybe 1 out of 5 games. Usually I see a bunch of clan-level players stack the axis team and have their way with allies. You basically need an allied team thats twice as good as the axis to win that map. _________________ the garand is fixed... horrayzors! |

i agree to an extent. ive seen some stacked games where it all of a sudden went the other way. its happened a few times actually. the axis on avalanche seem to be beating the allies down hard then their is this huge turn around.
i tend to be on the team that either has the least amount of guys, or the team with the weapon i want. lately ive been playing with the k43 just for the hell of it so ive been axis alot. if it happens to be on avalanche then i happen to do it. its just how i do it. for me its not to stack or anything, its just how my mood takes me.
im not all in favor of going in to the game and moving people around though. although it may be a good idea i just disagree with it. the way i see it is everyone has the same chance as everyone else to get into the game and pick a side. if you wanna play allies on avalanche you might have to play against a bunch of good people. the same goes the other way. thats just one of the many facets of dod you have to put up with. sometimes you are horribly out skilled but thats what happens. i think that if you wanna pick allies you have the right to, same goes the other way. i think there is no reason to be switching people around because maybe that happens to be the side they really wanna play on. the only time im in favor of moving people around is when the teams are un even. thats the only time in my opinion. when the teams are 12-8 i say move them around, but other than that i say let em go. yeah it may be hard, but look at it this way, it helps you become better at dod to play against that.
ive seen many a game though where the teams have been just about even and it was a hard fight. that happens too. i guess im just saying sometimes you gotta go with the flow of things. if im in a game and that happens and the opposing team is horribly stacked heres my solution. i leave, go grab a bite to eat, and come back a little later. usually in about a half hour the problem has cleared up and i can get some relatively good gaming going. _________________

I used to almost always play axis on avalanche, unless i was forced to play allies when they had less people. The reason was so I could go on a shovel frenzy. There is no easier map to get shovel kills than that, donner you can rack them up sometimes. Now I've been playing allies more than axis. There are many games where it is hard to get passed spawn, but when I do it is usually easier to get behind them and disrupt the allies. Especially with a few wall spams It usually isn't very bad on avalanche. Krafstoff on here I always see the Axis lose more than win. I don't play other servers though. |

Wow.
1. No.
2. No.
3. ...
4. No.
The reason why Ava's so tough for Allies is that once they're pinned down - they're pinned down for good. The Allies have a hard enough time holding off that last flag, let alone trying to proceed. So you can't let your team get roughed up like that.
I usually play Axis on Ava because I like my Solo Italian Hotel Adventures. There is one thing that is absolutely critical that Allies never do: take the hotel. Jeez, how can you just stand there and let hoards of Axis into your immediate zone like that? Keep the hotel clean, it is in the Allied zone and it should be the Allied hotel 90% of the time.
It's also a good idea to deploy in that blown out hole at the base of the church and take out all of the guys jumping down into the Axis gun position flag. Just ridding the area of enemies at the start can really help Allies disperse throughout the map.
BTW, Mr. Dig - how'd you like Ava on TV IV tonight? I don't even think Axis won once. |

Yeah, that was a pretty good game. You guys had a better team though, so it's natural that you kicked our butts.
The reason allies don't take the hotel is because it's a real pain to get in there when there are good mp44 and mg users lurking around on the steps. You are great with autos ten yard, it's easy for you, but when I'm stuck on a really bad team when the axis team is comprised of clan level players it's really had to get in there, especially since I dont like autos that much and the garand is awful for CQB. _________________ the garand is fixed... horrayzors! |

Actually getting on Allies is a problem for me. I always Auto-Assign and I almost always get Axis on that map. Just like I usually get Allies on Flash. I usually play on Sunday and Monday night. So maybe there is a difference. Because I hardly ever see a unbalanced play on Avalanche. I did play a round last Sunday or maybe it was Monday. As Allies we cleaned house for the first few rounds before things equalled out(aka: stalemate in the middle).
I have seen this clan stacking thing going on, but I really am having a probably grasping this really good player team stacking thing. I would like to see somebody define a really good player on DOD. The only players that I see that have positive k/d ratios are snipers and sometimes MGs for obvious reasons. Everybody else usually has negetive k/d ratios. Most maps result in stalemates in the mid section of the map. Maybe its just me. |

Heh Ten Yard I took your advice when I played another game of ava earlier. I was stuck on allies so I went spamming through the church and the hotel with a bar. I ended up with 60 kills and a 2:1 ratio as well as our team full capped 3 times. I guess auto spamming is the key to sucess now or something. I would have never been able to do that with a garand. _________________ the garand is fixed... horrayzors! |

Well I usually do have positive k/d ratio, always playing with the BAR, mp40, mp44, thompson, however, this is because I'm a sneaky bastid... _________________ PJ --- ancient IDIOT with a rusty CROWBAR....
