Well, after a standoff that was deadlocked on my map, Aliens and Marines alike decied it was time for a change. The marines surrenedered to the Aliens and asked to die in style. Our request was granted. The aliens cleared a way to the Airlock, where 8 marines and 4 aliens commited mass suicide by jumping into space. It was one of the greates endings to a map

It was fun when you where tring to get everyone organized to attack the new marine base at Low grav, I used beacon and your team had no clue I had retaken the 3 RTs by the orginal marine start.

Nope, it was still RC1. I am getting a very strange error the noone can see to figure out at the NS forums. I am hoping to have it ready in the next few days though

ya i swear i had people in comas on my team "our hive is under attack" i go running to save screamning guys to0 our hive! "our hive is dying" i fiight off your siege base just as hive dies....and no one builds a new hive for 15 mins....i keep dying as i try to fight yall...and everyone else....is...somewhere doing god knows what

couple things.

1. Are you using the new WAD files just released or the old WAD files from like 2.01.. (i use 2.01)

2. if you are using the new WADS, switch to the old ones and re-compile
3. If you are using the old ones, i believe this is an error caused by the new release of Beta4. Since my searches revealed 2 things.

A. There is a embedded texture that has a "" name instead of "wall_YelGrey1" or "sky" (e.g. missing a name of a texture for a brush)
** If you are not embedding your textures, then this may not be the case. You could also try embedding the textures -wadinclude

B. This is a side effect of Beta4, as another reference online suggests this error was found in another MOD, and the creators said they would have it fixed 'next release'

Anyways. It just a quick search of things. So you could Try

1. Updating or Downgrading your WAD files
2. Embedding or Excluding WAD files from inclusion into BSP
3. If you use any models, remove them (temp)
4. check the 'Check map for problems' in VHE, just in case of null brush
5. ** This always is best, and i use this often, Setup old HL.exe if you still have it to test your map. Any 'REAL' errors will show using this. If the map works here, its not your map, but a MOD/Steam issue. I ALWAYS test/run my maps using the Old School HalfLife. Its justa personal preferance, but its failsafe. If it works there, IT WORKS.

Well, I found the problem, and it has nothing to do with textures or models, but with lights. I was getting a Too Many Styles on Face error, which I had been ignoring (it was in RC1, but it ran so I ignored it) Apparently when I rasied the ceiling in the Kharaa Lab it caused enough trouble that steam did not like it. It is fixed now, so I can finish up and get RC2 in the next few days
