Last night around 11:00 pm a car crashed into my room. My best friend, VP (my brother for newer members) and I were watching a movie in my room when we heard this sound like overwhelming thunder. Then my computer desk got shoved across my room and my wall was busted through. We stared in shock for a second as the smell of burning oil filled my room. My friend then yelled, "God damn drunk drivers." We all ran out of the room and yelled to parents that a car just plowed through my wall. We all ran outside, got the driver out of the car and wrapped towels around his cuts and called 911.

We live on a corner house, and he had been speeding down the street at probably 60 miles an hour (30 limit) when he hit the curb with his Lexus LS-400, went airborn, and went into my room. It had been raining and the roads were extremely slick and I suppose he just lost control. The police told us he was high.

He suffered some broken fingers, a broken wrist, 3 broken places in his arm, and 4 broken places in his should (all right side). Had he had a passenger he would have surely died.

The damages amount to approximately $35,000 because he shifted that entire wall. We'll have to leave the house sometime while they fix the wall. They said it would take about 60 days. Afterwards my insurance company will probably sue the crap out of him because he was uninsured.

It's amazing how it turned out that no one was severly hurt. I mean, it seems like there were some serious miracles. Had he hit the curb at a slightly different angle he would have gone completely threw my room instead of stopping at my computer desk. Had I been at my computer instead of watching a movie I would be in some serious, if not lethal, pain. My friend HAD been on the computer 5 minutes earlier before we started the movie up. We had even asked VP to sit in the computer chair, but he declined and sat in the corner to watch the movie. The driver was lucky he didn't have a passenger because he would have surely died. He was lucky to get out with as few injuries as he did. It's mind-boggling really.

I have a picture of the car right now: http://njk.konspiracy.org/thecar.JPG

**Note: the picture is very large. Have patience while it loads. I may upload some more later.

Just glad to still be here. At least now it's statistically impossible for the same thing to happen again.

On the bright side, hopefully your computer was damaged and the insurance company will give you cash to purchase a new/kick ass box.

Hmmmm, you posted here so I am thinking your PC was fine.

Glad nobody was hurt including the dumbassed driver. With the car he was driving (assuming it wasnt stolen) chances are good that he has deep pockets and can be sued.

I saw that show and particular segment. It was hilarious. It is more common than one thinks. A block away from my house I was walking by after it had rained like crazy and at a T intersection there is a house that has a wall around their backyard. Part of the wall was gone and there were tire tracks leading up to a big hole in the garage where the car still was.

what move were you watching? I want to know what not to watch, seems like an unlucky movie.

The guy careened right over the curb, 2 large bushes, and a fence and still managed to break a metal pole in one place, bend it in about 3 others, cement it into a window sill, nearly bust through an entire corner of brick and cement, and crack our house's wall all the way through to the front. I don't really know how this guy managed to survive.

It was his dad's car, which I think he snuck out (he's 19 years old, so he does have a license and everythning).

GOOD GRIEF!!! Last night was the Ville Cup finals!!!!! Lucky it was earlier than that! Good to hear no one was badly injured. I know what it's like to be in a wreck with drunks...I lost my best friend to a drink driver and it screwed my career in the Air Force, or possibly a career in the soccer. Oh well. Hope everyone is alright and to see you on the Ville soon if you have to leave.
