and speaking of mods and a change of scenery...has anyone played Firearms?? its set with most of the modern day weps(like CS) but without the "you die and you're out of the round" game style. The maps i've played seem cool so far, they're basically the same as DoD(ctf, attack & defend, etc) and it requires a bit of skill as the weps dont kill you in 1 hit. yea ive played that, its almost like dod with modern guns and stuff.
a cool thing i never saw in any other mod is that after your shot you keep on bleeding and loosing health until you wrap it wit a bandage. |
I played that mod about 3 or so years ago. I had a blast with it. I went back and played it right before steam decided to screw everyone's lives over and there was some kind of hack where the admins there said you had to have a helmet or get banned. I guess if you had the helmet you couldn't use the hack. I stopped playing after about a week.
I had no idea that mod was still around. How many FA servers are up now?? I wouldn't mind playing that one again.

According to both of these sites, there are still some servers left running this mod...and it runs about as good as everything else does on Steam. There is also a bot called MarineBot if you feel like goofing around.

I tried playing firearms at one point, but my computer couldn't handle it that well. What are the chances of running that for a test shot sometime?

I played that one for a short time as well  . I didn't get into it as much as some of the others though.

Heck you can still find vanilla HL servers running...
As far as CS servers, in all non-april fool's seriousness, I can't see
myself ever trying CS again unless it was on a TV server.
