well recently my brother bought a ps2 game called The Suffering. can i tell you that it is the scariest and most traumatizing game ever. extremely bloody and gorey it takes my pic for awesome game of the month.

here is a link to the review http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/thesuffering/review.html

ive been playing this game for hours and it doesnt get boring to me. i like to play it at night and such cause it adds to the fear element of the game. It has the puzzle solving aspect of resident evil with the fighting/shoot em up aspect of grand theft auto. myself being a storyline freak i would have to say that this game has an amazing storyline. it also has three different endings all depending on how good of a person you are. youll randomly come across a corrections officer or an inmate and depending on if you help them, or in my case, blast them to pieces, you will get different endings. all kinds of disturbing single frame pictures pop up on the screen and youll hear tons of wierd noises that creep you out. one of my favorites is depending where you are at you can hear what went on in places. walking into some cells triggers a little clip of voice that you hear only if you stay in that cell or certain area. you hear all kinds of crazy stuff. also pay attention to what you here after you encounter a person in the game and how you deal with it. your dead wife might say thats what i saw in you, if you let them go. or youll hear a evil sounding voice say "Kill the parasite."

all in all i would have to say a great game. if you are looking for a good game to occupy your time that isnt your regular run of the mill game get the Suffering. I have it for ps2 but i dont know if its out for any other systems. Also i think i should warn any of you before you buy this game for your kids that it has highly graphic language and visuals. no nudity or what not. just more than your average blood and gore and alot of dropping the f bomb. i think thats a nice touch because after all, you are in a prison.

Yea its a pretty wacked out game. I didnt scream but I jumped alot. Its not a good idea to drink water, etc while your playing either... You tend to choke and almost die from lack of oxygen that way...

Methinks Silent Hill is still one of the scariest series ever, especially when played in a large, dark, quiet room all by your lonesome. Oh, and late at night usually helps too.
