-Intel P4 2.8 proc
-some motherboard with on board 2, 4 and 6 channel sound card. On board nic card. 8x AGP and dual channel memory. The mb rox (I forget the brand, I'll let Gibbon fill you in on it.)
-1.024gb of memory (2 512's)
-Antec's Sonoma case (Thanks to JD and BRN for the recommendation. A great case.) It's the same size as my old one, but with twice the amount of shit you can put in there. I bought it at Fry's
-Radeon's 9600XT. I went a notch down from the top. I got this piece at Fry's so there was a retail ripoff. I wasn't in the mood to wait two to three more days.
-Another WD hard drive (120 gb) which also got retail at Fry's.
Total cost was $930. I don't think it was bad for paying retail rate on three of the pieces.
I retired the old 20 gb (noise), kept the 40 and 200. So why the 120? My old box is now a server. A 120 gb server.
I tested it on some HL mods tonight. After tweaking I got TFC up to 90 FPS no matter which map. I played DoD tonight. Yes, I played DoD tonight. Some people there probably thought it was an imitator but it was actually me. I was able to go a quick 5-5 with a cap. No one should've let me kill them. The performance was at about 60fps. I didn't tweak anything however in the config yet. I'm gonna check out NS again and look at TS. Hopefully I'll cya all there. |
