Steam Status - "Working"

It appears that steam is downloading something without notice, and it will not tell me what it is. I went into the steam monitor and it just says "scanning" and does not tell me what is being done. Anyone know what is going on?

its precashing condition zero so basicly it downloads 300 megs of locked crap that you would have to pay for to use its pretty irritating if you ask me

It does that when it's updating a game. It could mean that it is pre-loading or just that one of your games has an update.

It already preloaded CS:CZ, and all my games are up to date, so I want to know what vavle is sticking on my comp now

Did it actually say it was downloading something? It usually says scanning when it is checking for something.

It was saying just scanning, but it was also downloading at full speed (up to 512 b/s at times) which was really annoying because my internet was so slow from it. It finished about 2 hours later, but I have no clue what was installed

yeah i just had cz dled onto my computer. pretty stupid if you ask me. what if i dont want cz? now i have a bunch of wasted space that i cant use. stupid steam
