On the 22nd or 23rd attempt to update it finally went thru and I was able to play. The funneh thing is every attempt I made actually got to 100% on both downloads but then would show the network was down. I would try back a little later and would have to download the update again. I love beta testing

I said before that they should test things first, but now I realize that we are the testers.

Oh and on the 4th or 5th try, I got it to download.

It's driving me crazy now, can't connect now (although I could about an hour ago), saying "could not verify a valid steam ticket user(could not contact authentication server, 35)" Steam is getting on my nerves....

LOL, looks like only a few ppl can get on. Hopefully when I get back from vacation all this will be fixed and ready for another update. heh

I do give them props though for fixing the map changing. At least now if you download custom content on a map change you will know it instead of thinking your steam fuxored up again. That and getting the url downloads for files working better.

Maybe you downloaded when every other HL player in the world wasn't downloading at the same time. Maybe they should release updates in one region at a time and then have then activated later. That way it would spread out the bandwidth. But what do I know. Probably more than Steam...
