After reading so many posts on NeoTF here is my 2 cents NeoTF was created because so many people cannot spot spies plain and simple.When you are a good spy spotter even when you have a microphone like I do watching a spy walk through your whole defense while you try to kill him and the rest of your team just lets him walk through because they are blind to spies is very frustrating.Shit I will even yell out spy as so and so as I am shooting him and say to the player on my team he is closest to spy right there or there and half the time they still let the spy go about his business.So either people spot spies or they don't.Some players are clueless and NeoTF makes up for blind people who can't spot spies.Protecting sissy snipers with anti-rocket launchers is the only crappy thing about the mod in my opinion Yeah look I can sit way back here and shoot you whoopy.Get in close and fight and earn your kills like the rest of us hehe Over and out

I agree. Neo is in many cases the only anti-spy stuff your team might have. Since no one ever cares to check what weapon your "teammate" is carrying, etc etc... I do a pretty good job of spy checking, and get quite a few crowbar kills of some feigned spy, but I can't catch them all, and no one else ever seems to check.
I was in a warpath game with a team of nOObs, and we got beat 480-O... the NME had about 4 or 5 spies that game, they beat us by mass swarming, and no matter how many times I told my team's engies to have a scout or spy upgrade their MG, no one ever did, so I kept making them grenade launchers... not effective enough.
Now for my major point: Why is the Tesla by far the best MG? Laser-Guided rockets are decent, other rockets suck... if they could be balanced a little, I think NEO would be even better.

I see this a lot. I am chasing a spy on his way to my command point. I can be shooting him with blood flying out and people sometimes will ignore it. I think it has a lot to do with them thinking, " oh he'll get him, I don't need to get involved". Mg's are fine and all but the best spy spotter is you. In reality, a spy should not be able to repeatedly break through a good defense. They are a very weak class when it comes to armor and health. Once unmasked, they are usually downed immediately.
But only if you go after them. If I see a spy, I am on him until I know he is dead. I just love busting them! Like, sorry chump not in my house! There are some questionable ones out there though. I have spotted spies only to have them stand five feet away, knife me once in the chest, and I die. . .When that happens, I pause and think WTF? Hacked up spies just don't go down smooth in Kjeldor. Bah!

Anyone who knows me knows I spot spies very well That is the original reason I started playing spy here way back when it was still avantiville.When there was no NeoTF I usually played defensive spy so I could kill and uncover spies for my teamates

Good news.. In the next NTF, the MG's will NOT be able to detect spies!! I know alot of people will be glad to here that.. **cough** Frag **cough**

Since I've switched to Pyro I get a special delight in lighting them up like roman candles.
The Neo mod takes this away in the back field so I have to stay close the choke points and start the spy on his way to respawn. Hehe got to burn baby. |

I enjoy the NEO just because it is something new and different. I really think that the only MG that should be able to detect spies would be the Tesla since it is upgraded by a spy or a scout, both of which uncover spies.
I wish it showed when a tesla was destroyed and it would be nice if it counted as a kill but aside from that it adds a little more competition for Offense. Anyone who knows me knows that I think spies are overpowered as it is and when you combine that with NON spy spotting teammates it just makes it more frustrating.
As an engy I don't stand a chance vs a good spy. They have the disguise from my SG, more speed, more health, more armor and a one hit one kill weapon which we all know has a LARGE kill window. Any spy worth their salt avoids dispensers like the plague. I chase them with the shotgun and they can usually make it from pack to pack and survive. They only get killed when a teammate or two decides to help. Same with when I snipe or demo. Soldiers can tear them up but even a HW needs skill to handle the good ones.
Pretty sad when I can spot the spy coming and still not be able to stop him from taking out my SG and then they have the nerve to complain about the NEO mod. Spies have had it easy and from the sounds of it they will soon have it easy again.
Bada you hate snipes because if a good one can spot you, you can't get near the SGS. I hate spies because as engy EVEN when I spot them I usually can't save my SG. I really hate the spies that don't bother with a disguise and just run around stabbing. NEO turned the tables on the spies for a bit and let you know how it felt to be an engy vs you, AND BOY DID YOU ALL WHINE !!!!!! |

You never heard me complain about NeoTF I enjoy the mod in its current form.Maybe you guys could leave this version on.I agree that only the tesla should spot spies too.The reason I hate snipers is that they don't have to earn their kills in my opinion they just sit way back and bam.They don't even have to worry about soldiers any more with the anti-missile launchers.If they are going to do away with anything those anti-rocket things should go.Thanks for the feedback I was wondering what you all thought.

i hate snipers too, but even with the box thing you can get behind em, even on avanti one night, right before i left, there was a sniper in the tower that was annoying(he killed me alot) so i ran up went in the church and i blew him away boy that was fun, you can jump over the box, get in close and unload with rockets, or a nailgun |

Ya know the really good soldiers just pull out the shotgun and kill me anyway
I will say if the soldiers get the remote then the snipers have to keep AM launcher. I used to drop mine wherever our defense was to protect the SGs and MGs, but I know not all snipers would do that.
The NEO servers are the only servers where I'm not embarresed to be a spy I mean being a spy on a non neo server is almost like being a HW when the other team doesn't have one |
