For me NASCAR is best watched during the sports part of the news to see the crashes. I don't think NASCAR is stupid its just not something I'm interested in.

yeah i understand that. i just hate when some people complain about it just being cars driving in circles and wrecking. and then they say its boring. my thought is, if you dont like it, dont watch it. dont complain to me.

It's usually ignorant people that come up with comments like those. Like Chief said, "if you don't like it, don't watch it". There is a lot more to nascar than most would think. If you don't watch it, you don't know that.

No Mr. Red Nipples I think Mr. Badabing is absolutely correct, its rednecks driving in circles. On the bright side I think Nascar is great as it gets the redneck hicks off the streets where they no doubt would be drinking beer all day and then racing friends on the freeways at night and the end result would be that they die in a massive car crash along with some poor innocent family in their minivan who were just returning from church.

I guess I have to open my eyes, it would appear that the rednecks are not restricted to Texas, there seems to be pockets of them all over the United States.

btw, up here we dont call them red necks in Quebec they are called cou rouge.

no need to disrespect my driver. i didnt say anything bad about dj winning. i actually like dj. and why he would need to get wrecked everyrace is beyond me. No driver deserves to be wrecked everyrace.

well i am just surprised how NASCAR has caught on across teh country. It used to be a southern thing, just for us rednecks, then everyone started to jump on the stock car wagon.

I was never a big fan as I prefer rally, touring and grand prix racing as it requires a little more strategy that running on an oval. You get to race through the country side or through cities like Paris etc. They may not reach 150 MPH like stock cars do, but its fun to watch them take different types of turns and road surfaces. If I had to pick a stock car driver, Rusty Wallace would be my choice, just cause he started racing while I was in college and he is my age....

anyway that is my 2 tires worth. take it or leave it.

BRN that was a joke. It really is a bumper sticker I saw on a car the other day.

You have to admit that NASCAR is the Low Tech of Professional Motor Racing and they do go in circles. The two races they do run on the road are the most fun to watch even if the only way the roundy round guys can beat the road racers it to bump them off the road. At both Watkins Glen and Sears Point last year the roundy round guys all said they would punt off any and all road racers. Guesz what? That is exactly what they did in both races.

Name one NASCAR guy other than maybe Geff Gordon who could get into an F1 car and compete.

F1 cars are the most demanding cars to drive. They accelerate faster, turn better , stop faster, and subject the driver to more G Forces than any other race car on the road. We cann't count Dragsters cause they cannot turn for shit.

I admit Nascar is fun to watch if you want to watch bumper car action and lots of big high speed crashes. You don't even have to watch the whole race to see who will win, just watch the last 3 laps cause the winner will run the loser off the race track.

In my humble opinion they are for the most part a bunch of bad sports who if they can not beat you fair and square will run up on your back bumper and push you into a wall.

America loves NASCAR because it is simple to understand ( Drive as fast as you can and to hell with everyone else on the road Oh Wait that's how they drive on the L.A Freeways ) and it gives the average american fan the cheap thrills we love.

After I have said all this let me add that I watch NASCAR when ever I can as long as there isn't a road race on at the same time.

I know Bada, my comments were not directed at you.

Tony Stewart . He did come from open wheel racing before he went to NASCAR. IRL if I am not mistaken.

I am not sure why they keep it as low tech as they do compared to the other racing. It may be because it is stock car racing. Even though there is nothing stock about them. I used to watch the open wheel racing quite a bit but lost interest in it. They just don't rub enough

Ha ha ha. rub right I love it.
You are right Tony S could. In fact I think he did a test drive last year in a F1 car at Indy and the F1 guy ran the stock car for a few laps. You really have to be in great shape to take the pounding of an F1 car for a whole season. Neck muscles are the first to go in that series.
