Tell me if that FIC mobo is any good. My previous FIC mobos that i have had have been up and down, but I don't know if that was more because of the chipset or the mobo itself. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

I did ... but what do you mean? It's the AU13 model. I haven't found any notorious reports. I've been backing up all the stuff I want to save today, and I was going to put it together tomorrow. _________________

Just be carefull, I have been through several FIC mobo from Fry's. They were always the cheapest ones. Look for the return sticker on the box. If there is not one, then I wouldn't worry to much. Fry's is notorious for reshelving bad returns, because the idiots that work there don't what a bad product looks like. I have even bought hard drives with Windows loaded on it and the drive is suppose to be brand spanken new. So I have gotten to the point that I only buy certain type of products from them. But you need to get the PC together and running and check it through before your 30 days is up to return it. I wouldn't worry to much, just that I have been burned many times from there. |

LOL!! I'm just looking at it from my perspective. Chen may have never had a problem from Fry's, so he may not need to worry. |

Well, so far so good. I've only come across two problems.
1.) WinXP didn't seem to recognize my USB mouse. The USB port itself seems to be functioning right however. I slipped a USB/PS2 converter joint on the mouse and now it's working great. Weird...
2.) Morrowwind doesn't like the newest drivers for the 9800 pro while Shadowbane doesn't like the older drivers. Oh well, TFC runs great.
The FIC mobo is running smooth. I haven't encountered any problems yet. I also like WinXP. I think it's a good step up from 98. The athlon is running faster than I dreamed and the Video card, aside from the driver conflict, is a beast (good thing).
I should be set for awhile. _________________

Good deal, I have been burned to many times by that place, so the only things I buy there now is books and games. |
