Well I hate to tell you guys but the main server is going to be down due to dried up frequency grease. The planned maintaince will be accomplished The 1st of Jan between 0600 and 1330.
The good news is with the new Frequency Grease your pings should improve at least 35% and possibly up to 50% with some of the lpb's actually seeing a negative ping.

Frequency Grease will be made available sometime in the 2nd quarter for all those who would like to enjoy further increases in frequency speed.

Roof, I don't know if LlamaBeans will have the server down for that long to apply the grease. I hope it will take him only a few hours.

The information on that new grease looks very promising. If it actually improves performance of the server and lowers everyones pings as much as it promises then we will have to get it done to the other 4 servers as soon as possible.

Of course if it helps everyone to become a LPB then I am going to be very unhappy. It said that they used it at VegasTFC and the average decrease in pings was 32%, it sure would be nice if we can see that result here.

We should all play on TV3 before the maintence is done and take some snapshots of the performance, then reconnect once the server is back up and see how much things have improved for us. I will make the time to be online to test it out, Roof are you free? Think we can find a few more helpful voulenteers?

I recieved the grease in UPS Friday.. I'll be lubing up our Cisco router tommorrow. Hopefully, there will be a speed increase for 1 & 2 also. Keep your fingers crossed.
