Ok, I'm not sure if there is even anything that could fix this problem...but here I go..

This is probably something involving server settings or something...but whenever I create a game on LAN or internet...the game/map is much clearer to see...its bright and can see most corners and what not...but whenever I join a TV server or any other internet server for that matter...everything is very dark. I can still see the map, but some corners I can see on LAN are practically black...same thing with distance...it loses a lot of clarity. The whole feel is almost like its night out when its nto suppose to be..kind of a pain.
When i initially started playing DoD, my Half-Life was set to OpenGL because of TFC, but it was crappy on DoD..so I switched to D3D and it appeared to fix it...game got better but now its back to being really dark except on LAN tests. any suggestion would be great, if not thanks anyways

The only thing I can think of is, as i am sure has been done, check the video settings in each mod. Open GL is best. Set the resolution size based on monitor and video card.

THere should not be a visible diff (besides lag) between the ville and a lan game hoasted on you machine.

It might be your "gamma" settings, but I doubt it if it's only happening on the servers. Otherwise, I'm not too sure.
