I had this problem before. I put in a pc10 256mb memory card into my laptop and it did not boot. The manual says to put a pc10 card only. I don't know. Maybe I exceede the max memory or something(the new one was 256mb and the one already in it was 64mb).
You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm fine with 128 mb. _________________

One thing I forgot to mention before is that I have read that the address location that the error occurs at is close if not in the range that the video card uses.
Figures that I would get a lemon mobo and my dad gets the good one. If it is the powersupply, I have no way to test it. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

This error has happened everytime I have tried to clock up the ram speed, but that is with the current stuff. If anything I added(after this problem was present) an exhaust blower in my pci slot area and that would be drawing more power and making it happen more frequently, but I think it is happening just as often, not more. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Try a fewthing's first-
1)Check to makesure your videocards driver is properly installed
3DFX Files
Glide ect..........
2)Use a commandline line memory setting that will dedicate X Amount of ram to the game only..
Right-Click on your TFC Icon as shown here,
http://www.techspot.com/tweaks/cstrike/cstrike-2.shtml Just replace the
path to where your tfc *.* is kept.
Here is what mine look's like,
C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game tfc -noipx -heapsize 1024 -zone 512
* Your choice to use 512 (.5MB) – 1536 (1.5MB)
3)Don't try overclocking jack until your sure that your porn box(PC) can run everything in it's factory stated settings.. FSB,Shadowing Off ect......
I would check to see if your having problems with anyother game just to see if it's a game snafu and not Hardware....
Well try these and then we can get technical 8-]

How can it be overclocking when it is withing specs for the mobo?
I would also like to see your source for being only able to run at PC66.
|
The motherboard "says" it supports it but in fact it also states that it is made for PC66 but you "can" clock it to 100mhz. Just read your manual a little better.
As far as my source?? LOL. I have been a compuer tech for over 5 years. I work on all my own boxes and all my friend's. I know motherboards and how they are set up. When the mobo has EDO on it then the bus is always going to be PC66. No way around it. The manufacturer may claim almost anything they want if they can get it to work one time on a test system. Who is going to tell them different?
If you run your pc at 66mhz clock for the ram without any problems, then logically you can assume that it is set correctly. When when you set it to 100mhz on the ram and it errors out, then you know it is not made for it.
Common sense tells me your motherboard is PC66 only. What is it telling you?

Common sense is telling me that if I can get it to work in my dad's computer(almost identical to mine just a terrible video card, slower processor and a higher power supply) that I should be able to run it in mine. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Hmm, the key word here is ALMOST. Even just one different thing about the motherboard could cause a world of difference. Any part different can cause a difference. I guess you are intent on running it at 100mhz and there is nothing I can do to persuade you differently. Therefore I will quit trying and just tell you to think before you post again about a system problem you are creating by continuing to overclock.
Good luck with the system.
