I have a problem on my computer, that has been a problem since when i got it almost, about certain things not being able to run, or freezing very soon after starting. Mostly games, it usually is either I try to start the program and my computer locks up and freezes, or a few minutes after getting into the program it freezes and I need to manually shut down on my cpu. I have DirectX 8.0, and I'm pretty sure (not positive, is there a place i can check this) that I have the latest drivers. Anyone have any input on what i can do to fix this? (BTW, some programs like TFC/Halflife never freeze, but others freeze every time.... )
Any input would be appreciated |

even tho you have the latest drivers for your vid card my guess is that this is caused by imcompatablilty with the program, your best bet is to go to the programs website and look in support for know issues with certain cards. you may also want to make sure your PC has high enough specs to deal with the program requirements also. _________________ Killing is my bidness ladies and BIDNESS IS GOOD!!!! |

According to the games my system is compatible, I only got the computer a year ago or so, so it's not like is very very outdated. As for my video card, it is a pretty good one and the games support it. |

What version of Windows are you running? Machine specs? An example of a game that freezes? _________________

May sound dumb but ,virus.
Mine does strange unexplainable things as well. I have Norton 2001 and some told me that 2001 has problems. So I scanned through www.antivirus.com which is free and sure enough it caught 2 viruses that 2001 missed. _________________

I was thinking it might be a virus too, I havent updated norton for too long. I'm going to the store tonight to upgrade norton, and I'll post again if it is resolved or not. |
