Well I am looking at finally getting a new graphics card, I currently have the 128 GeForce FX 5200. It has been a great card for the past couple years, and even played HL2 with no problems. But, I think its time is starting to show, I d/led the trial version of AOE III and noticed when alot of things were going on the game started to slow up etc.
So I figure its the graphics card due to the fact I have a p4 2.8 HT with a gig of ram.

So I am looking at getting the Geforce 6800, but I am not sure which one, just getting the 6800 or the 6800GT. Also not sure what make I am looking at either eVGA or MSI?
Any suggestions, or even recommendations on other cards?

eVGA

MSI

Get the GT...you won't be sorry. I have the eVga 6800gt clocked up to ultra speeds right now. It runs like that 24/7.

Get the LeadTek one. It takes the AGP slot lus one pci slot. I I can run mine at Ultra or Extreme speeds.

And it has 32 oz of copper on it so it runs cool.

The new version of the Leadtek comes with a single slot cooler. I saw a bunch or reviews for it on Newegg and they said even though the picture still shows it with the massive 2 slot cooler setup they changed it to a standard cooler.

if your motherboard can handle it, go for a PCI-Express card, preferably a 7600 Gforce 7, that'd be the best available. Otherwise, the 6800 is a really safe bet.

You probably need an AGP card unless your motherboard supports PCI-E, which is faster I think.

Yea 5200 is an AGP card. You'll need another AGP card.

this is the only 6800gt agp that newegg has, which is really weird.

I've never used XFX personally but to me they come off as the lower end manufacturer.

Here's a site that compare different graphic card on different game!!! Good review!!!!

http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041004/index.html

If you have the money, 6800gt all the way... Very good card!!!

Maybe you should look at 6600gt too. Half the price of 6800gt and very good card too. Best ratio price/performance on the market!!!

Bullseye, sorry but 5200 suck!!! This is what I had before buying my 6600gt a year ago!!! But hey... you only paid 100$ for the card and the memory!!! Don't expect to play half-life 2 or Doom3 at very high detail!!!
