A dispenser will fill up automatically no matter where it's built.

Ok it is impossible to tell how much is in the dispener until you hit it with your wrench. At least I have not found a way. So here is what a dispenser contains right after you build it and hit it once:
150 Health
14 Rockets
13 armor
44 Cells

It does not pick up the goodies if you do build it on a pack. It will be taken out easier if you build it on a pack too! Packs add to grenade err EMP power!

Yes Robert, I was talking about emp's. Should have specified that. To me it's just another grenade. Last night I watched one engy toss one emp and take out 2 sg's, 1 dispenser and 4 people because the ground was littered with packs! Cyco, I don't ride the bind bandwagon. I prefer my old school set up.

You can fill up your dispenser by hitting it with the wrench if you are carrying ammo. The more ammo your dispenser has, the bigger the blast when it explodes. I would recommend placing it in a doorway, and when it says an enemy is using your dispenser, detonate it. If it is full, it should be able to take out any class. You can bind a key to detonate it by typing: bind "key" "detdispenser" in the console. Someone correct me on this if it is inaccurate, it has been a while since I have typed it in.

I know where and what a dispenser does and goes. All I wanted to know was if filled automatically when placed on top of a bag to IT'S maximum. As I said before KRG has answered.

I've been playing a bit of engy lately and I've noticed something that disturbes me. People are getting a little TOO eager to toss bags to engies. I'll bring my gun up to a level three, then run off to help with offense, when I come back for health/grenades I find the ground around my sg littered with packs. If my gun is already at its maximum, there is no reason to toss bags. Also, wouldn't these random bags help destroy my gun if someone tossed an EMP in? When I play engy, i usually just pick up all the bags I see. The less laying arund, the less potential for my teammates getting EMPed. Is this something I shouldn't do, or more precisely, does anyone actually use the bags on the ground for ammo, or does everyone just flock to the health packs?

Haha I knew someone would post that! I was just wondering when.

I'm going to toss them anyway I can't stop, to much of a habit. You will just have to keep them cleaned up I guess.

Just another duty in the busy Engineers day.

How does the packs add to emp's power. I was unaware of this. This being a very good reason to keep the path clear especially around your S&MG's an cap points.I find it rather intresting an will keep an eye out for those bombs waiting to happen.
