While on this topic, how about the Athlon 64. When is it slated to come out? I also heard that they were slower than current processors. Is this true and how do they compare to current processors? The last thing would be price range for equipment to run it?

There is a big article in this month's MaximumPC on that Borg. Unfortunately they don't have a link for it on their website. You should pick it up if you see, it answers everything you just asked.
